Our Teachers

Our team is made up of educators who care deeply about creating a warm, engaging environment where curiosity can flourish. With a small class size and a collaborative approach, teachers are able to thoughtfully guide each child’s learning while nurturing independence, creativity, and confidence.

Jessica Stygares

Jessica Stygares founded The Lantern School with the belief that childhood should be protected as a time of curiosity, exploration, and meaningful learning.

She began her career in education as a Teach For America corps member and special education teacher, experiences that shaped her understanding of how children learn best and the importance of meeting each child as an individual.

As a pediatric speech-language pathologist and founder of The Speech Boutique, Jessica has spent her career working closely with children and families throughout Fairfield County. Her work has focused on language development, early literacy, and the foundational skills that support confident learners.

At The Lantern School, Jessica brings together strong academics, intentional play, and a deep respect for childhood to create a thoughtful and nurturing learning environment.

Jessica lives in Darien with her husband and three children.
